Behold the Wonder
Every November my family and I get excited to dig out our boxes of Christmas decorations from the basement and transform our house for a season. We have our traditions, and I’m sure you do too. One of those traditions includes dusting off some of our favorite Christmas albums and listening to the familiar music as we put up our tree and carefully place the ornaments, each one having special meaning and memories. The music is always an essential part of putting us in the “Christmas spirit.” For just a few weeks out of the year, we listen to this special music we love so much.
This year at Faith Church, we’re taking some of these timeless songs and inviting you to join us on a journey as we celebrate the greatest story ever told. We’re inviting you to Behold the Wonder of Christmas!
Behold the Wonder is like nothing we’ve ever attempted, as a worship ministry. This high-energy, family-friendly, God-honoring, multi-sensory worship experience will allow you to hear the Christmas story in an incredibly unique way! This experience will primarily consist of music, with elements of video, eye-catching visuals, and the spoken word. It will appeal to a wide variety of people with its range of expressions.
The purpose of Behold the Wonder is two-fold; for one, we are offering this as a winter community outreach event. Around this time of year, hearts are softer and many people are more open to hearing about Jesus. Secondly, we long to build relationships within our church family as we celebrate Christmas. Ultimately, our goal is to see people connect with God and with each other. The Worship Ministry has been planning and praying for several months now! We truly hope that this event will help point people to Jesus, our Emmanuel.
Here are the details. The concert will be held on Thursday, Dec. 8 (7 pm), Friday, Dec. 9 (7 pm), and Saturday, Dec. 10 (11 am matinee) at Faith Church Dyer. The target length is 90 minutes, which includes a 15-minute intermission. Free downloadable tickets will be required. Along with the ticket, you’ll receive a free Christmas EP recorded by our own Faith Church musicians.
We’d love to have everyone at all campuses experience Behold the Wonder, along with un-churched friends and family members. This is an awesome opportunity for us to extend God’s love and grace to everyone who walks through our doors because every relationship matters! As a father, I am always looking for ways to help this amazing story of Jesus’ birth come to life in my kids’ hearts. The decorations, parties, and traditions definitely bring some warmth and cheer to the season, but the gospel penetrates so much deeper than all this. Jesus came to earth out of love for each of us. This is good news! And the artists of Faith Church are excited to help us all celebrate and share this unspeakable joy this Christmas.
