Text:  Exodus 4:28-31

Gather: We gather to worship on weekends both in person and online. Not only is it important for us to engage in church services but also in smaller groups.

SCRIPTURE:  Review Joseph’s story: how he came to be in Egypt in the first place (Genesis 37), how the Israelites then came to live in Egypt (Genesis 42-26) and how the nation grew while in captivity (Exodus 1:1-7).  

ACCOUNTABILITY:  How did the Israelites’ circumstances change from the time they entered Egypt to where we pick up the story in Exodus 4? While God protected them from starvation in the beginning, it may not have felt like His protection at the end. Have your circumstances ever changed so that you “felt” a lack of God’s protection? But what was/is the reality?

TRANSFORMATION: We will all face tough times. But how can God’s redemptive story of Israel give us hope for our own redemption story?
