Continue the Conversation Questions
ON MISSION | Scripture Reference: Colossians 1:15-20
Discuss the following questions with your Small Group:

  1. What comes to mind when you hear about missions and missionaries?  What is your experience with missions and missionaries?
  2. Read Colossians 1:15-20. What things jump out in terms of its description of Jesus?
  3. Read the following verses: John 1:1-3; John 1:18; John 14:9; Hebrews 1:3-4. What similar points do they make about Jesus, and what additional points do we learn about him?
  4. The passage mentions “thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities.” Read Colossians 2:15 and Ephesians 6:12. What do they tell us about these powers and forces and how they relate to us and Jesus?
  5. It says that Jesus is the head of the church. What do you think that means? What difference does it make for our lives and how we view the church?
  6. The passage says that in all things, Christ is to have the preeminence (and that all things are for him). What are things that we make more pre-eminent over Christ? What are places in your life that you don’t let Christ have the preeminence?
  7. The theme of our mission series is “Everybody, Everyday.” How are you planning on being on mission this week?

Complicated Conversations

Truth in Genesis

What’s truth? We live in a society where people tend to define their own truths, using their own guidelines. Where values and beliefs are spun in such a way that makes us question if God’s way really is the best.

But does a Universal Truth exist? We believe there is and it’s been recorded in roughly 757,000 words. We invite you to join us as we open that source, God’s Word, and equip you to have complicated conversations with those who are defining their own truth.
