Continue the Conversation Questions
This Is Me | Scripture Reference:  Psalm 77
Discuss the following questions with your Small Group:

  1. What comes to mind when you hear the word ‘depressed’ or ‘depression?’ How did this weekend’s message influence your perception?  Discuss.
  2. How has depression impacted your life? personally, loved ones, etc. Share.
  3. Read Psalm 77:1-9. Have you ever had similar thoughts/questions to the psalmist? Ponder that these raw emotions, questions, and (even) doubts are part of God’s Word – what does that tell you about God?
  4. Read Psalm 77:10-20. How does the Psalmist find hope and comfort? Where has God drawn your attention in times of despair?  How about giving support to others in their sorrows?
  5. Read Deut. 31:8; Joshua 1:9; Ps 23:4; Ps 34:18. There is a common theme throughout these  verses. What does God promise us when we are feeling depressed or anxious?
  6. Read Luke 22:41-44. How does it make you feel to know that Jesus felt the same emotions that we do?

Complicated Conversations

Truth in Genesis

What’s truth? We live in a society where people tend to define their own truths, using their own guidelines. Where values and beliefs are spun in such a way that makes us question if God’s way really is the best.

But does a Universal Truth exist? We believe there is and it’s been recorded in roughly 757,000 words. We invite you to join us as we open that source, God’s Word, and equip you to have complicated conversations with those who are defining their own truth.
